Salary Calculator converts any pay figure — hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or annual — into all the others at once. Enter an amount, pick the period it represents, and instantly see what it equals in every other period.
Example: enter $35 with period Hour, 40 hours/week, 5 days/week, 12 months/year → per day $280, per week $1,400, per month $6,066.67, per year $72,800. Flip to period Year with $120,000 and you get per month $10,000, per week $2,307.69, per hour $57.69.
The Hours / week, Days / week, and Months / year fields control how periods relate to each other. Use Months / year to model roles paid only during the academic year (e.g. 9 or 10 months) versus a full 12-month salary. The comparison table shows the effective hourly rate at common weekly hours, useful when weighing a salaried offer against a contractor rate.

How many work hours does the calculator assume per year? ›
It derives weeks per year as (months per year × 52.1429 / 12). With the default 12 months/year and 40 hours/week that is about 2,087 hours/year — the figure the US government uses for hourly-rate conversions of annual salaries.
Does it subtract taxes? ›
No. All amounts are gross (pre-tax). To estimate take-home pay, apply your effective tax rate to the result.
Why is the monthly number bigger than annual ÷ 12 × something? ›
If you set Months / year below 12 (for example 9 for a school-year contract), the annual total is divided across fewer months, so each monthly payment is higher than annual ÷ 12.
Can I compare a salaried offer with a freelance hourly rate? ›
Yes. Enter the salary as a Year amount and read the Per hour value, accounting for unpaid time off. Or enter the hourly rate and read Per year, then discount it for taxes and benefits a salaried role includes.
