IP Address Lookup

Geolocate IP addresses. Find country, city, ISP, and more.

About this tool

IP Address Lookup returns the country, region, city, postal code, ISP/organization, ASN, coordinates, and timezone for any IPv4 or IPv6 address. Leave the field empty and click My IP to look up the address you are browsing from.

Example: looking up 8.8.8.8 returns Country: United States (US), Org: Google LLC, ASN: AS15169. The result includes a link to OpenStreetMap centred on the reported coordinates so you can sanity-check the location.

Useful for debugging a CDN or VPN ("which exit node am I on?"), checking where a suspicious log IP comes from, or verifying that a DNS record resolves to the expected region before deploying.

FAQ

How accurate is the geolocation?

Country-level accuracy is usually high (above 95%), but city and postal-code precision varies by ISP and can be off by tens of kilometres. Treat coordinates as approximate and never as proof of a person's physical location.

Why does it show a different city than where I am?

Databases map IP blocks to the registered address of the ISP or the nearest major point of presence, not your actual GPS position. A VPN, corporate network, mobile carrier, or recent IP reassignment can also shift the reported location.

Can I look up IPv6 addresses?

Yes. Paste a full IPv6 address such as 2606:4700:4700::1111 and the lookup resolves it the same way as IPv4.

Is there a rate limit?

The upstream API may throttle very high volumes of requests from the same IP. For occasional manual lookups you will not hit it; for bulk processing use a dedicated geolocation API with an API key.
