Create a favicon set from an emoji, a short piece of text (1–2 characters), or an uploaded image. Choose a solid color, a two-color gradient at any angle, or a transparent background, then adjust corner radius and padding. The preview updates live, and you can export PNG files at 16, 32, 48, 64, 180 (Apple touch icon), and 512 pixels, or download a multi-size .ico file bundling 16, 32, and 48.
Example: pick the ⚡ emoji on a solid #5b8cff background with 20% radius → export favicon.ico for the browser tab and favicon-180x180.png for iOS home-screen icons. Or type the letter D in white on a purple gradient for a branded monogram.
For the widest browser and platform coverage, place the ICO and a 180×180 PNG in your site root and reference them from the <head>.

What is the difference between PNG and ICO? ›
PNG favicons are a single image at one size and are used by modern browsers, Apple touch icons, and PWA manifests. The ICO format bundles multiple sizes (16, 32, 48) in one file and is the classic format supported by every browser including older Internet Explorer.
Why does my favicon look pixelated at 16×16? ›
At very small sizes fine detail and thin lines blur together. For the crispest 16px icon use a simple, high-contrast shape or a single bold letter, and avoid small emoji features. The preview thumbnails show each size at the same display dimensions so you can judge legibility before exporting.
Can I use my own image? ›
Yes. Switch to the Image tab and drop or upload a PNG, JPG, or SVG. The image is fit inside the canvas with the padding you set, preserving its aspect ratio, and drawn over your chosen background (or transparent if you select that option).
Do I need a transparent background? ›
Only if your favicon should float on a non-rectangular browser tab or you are compositing it elsewhere. Most sites use a solid or gradient background with rounded corners so the icon reads clearly on both light and dark browser chrome.
